YEP involvement: District chair of YEC three times in three-year terms. Country contact for many years. Hosted two school-year students and one summer student. RC of Brush YEO for many years. Recognized by DGs for service to District YEP: Rotarian of Year, D545, 1989-90; and DG's Discretionary Award, D5450, 2002-03. Organized corporation RMRYE with assistance of PDG Stan Black's law firm, Aug 1988; attained charitable status as §501(c)(3) organization, Jan 1989; attained status as designated sponsor of Exchange Visitor Program for J-1 visa, Aug 1989; and attained "listing" status (accreditation) with Council on Standards for International Educational Travel (CSIET), Apr 1992. Responsible for maintaining those positions for RMRYE ever since. Traveled to international YEP meetings in Sweden, Finland, France, Turkey, Switzerland, and others I don't recall. Outbound air-travel escort to Japan and Australia. When Jack Rummel was international chair, our district committee hosted the pre-convention RI YEO meeting in Las Vegas (year is forgotten). Attended RI pre-convention YEO meeting in Kansas City, Philadelphia, Portland (OR) and others I don't remember. Despite the frequent late night phone calls, it has been a wonderful time.
