3. Sunday:

Ski or snowboard at Copper Mountain
Return to regular host families late afternoon

You will stay with host for the weekend, usually 2-3 students per host. They will make sure you have good meals and are transported to the events during the weekend.

Those not wishing to ski every day may enjoy taking the free public bus to visit the towns of Breckenridge, Dillon, Silverthorne, Frisco and Keystone.  Some interesting local websites are www.gobreck.com and www.townoffrisco.com to see what else is going on during the weekend.

The cost will run approximately $100 for the weekend.  This includes equipment rentals and lunches.  Copper Mountain will provide free left tickets (subject to change, check your email).

Dinners are provided and you will have breakfast with your host family on Saturday and Sunday.  Be sure to check with your club to see if they will help you with any of the expenses.

If you are low on cash, there is still plenty to do to make the weekend inexpensive.  It is not necessary to ski or snowboard everyday.

We really want to stress what a fun and enjoyable weekend this is for everyone.  There are ways to keep the costs down.  We want you to come even if you don’t ski and you will have a great time.

Transportation is being arranged from the Denver area by Nancy Thornton (Nancy@rye5450.org).  A bus is normally arranged to bring students up from the Denver area early Friday morning and to return on late Sunday.  Those close to Frisco should plan on reaching Copper Mountain on Friday between 9:30 am to 11:00 am.  Meet in the cafeteria at Copper Station.

Remember to bring warm clothing, gloves, hats, sunscreen, sun glasses/goggles, swim suit and a towel.  If you have skis or snowboard and boots, you can bring them on the bus.  It is often cheaper to rent equipment in Denver than at the mountain, but we should be able to get some discounts unless you are renting for the season.

Please check your email for updates and changes as for the weekend!
